BEN ROWARTH
Ben Rowarth is a London based singer, composer and conductor. He performs regularly as a Bass-Baritone soloist and has worked extensively with a number of other ensembles including I Fagiolini, The BBC Singers, Britten Sinfonia and The OAE. Ben was ‘Interim Director of Music’, University College, Durham (2011), Conductor of University College Orchestra (2012) and has been guest conductor for a number of North East and London based choirs. As a composer, Ben music has won accolades including NCEM Composers Award (2012) and Leeds International Film Festival Best Documentary Soundtrack (2013).
Ben has received numerous commissions for choral and instrumental works and international performances, including from Merton College Oxford, York Minster, The Tower of London, The London Festival of Contemporary Church Music, Emmanuel College Cambridge and The Fieri Consort. Ben’s work has featured on five recordings and receives regular broadcasts on BBC Radio 3, including by internationally acclaimed ensemble ‘The Tallis Scholars’.
